Windstream and City Communications moves an enterprise-class contact center to a CCaaS solution in the cloud for major energy services provider.
As one of the largest retail providers of electric, natural gas and home services in North America—with its parent company based in Europe—a major energy services provider processed approximately 1.3 million calls per month for sales and customer service. Preferred Homecare selects City Communications to help with transition
Preferred Homecare has been using CityCom, CityHosted, and CityCare for years, and they couldn’t be happier. Prior to turning to City Communications as their all-in-one telecom service, Preferred Homecare struggled to streamline their communications processes, keep information up to date and consolidate their phone lines, which were major problems considering it operates out of 65 locations. Chris Hall, a telecom engineer for Preferred Homecare, recently spoke about how City Communications solved all of their issues.
“They’re pretty much a complete package,” said Hall. “They do pretty much what we ask them to do – when we’ve got too many things going on, or when I just can’t handle the load, they pretty much take the load for me.”
City Communications helped Preferred Homecare consolidate communications and streamline their business.
Even though Preferred Homecare didn’t have any previous records, City Communications still worked tirelessly over the course of six months to help them gather all of the needed information from each of their sites. After Preferred Homecare placed all of their service requests through CityCare, they began to keep track of and store these records.
“The problem we always had was that we have multiple carriers and we were having a big problem trying to keep everything updated and keep it one central spot,” said Hall.
Hall also described how CityHosted has been a “savior” in helping Preferred Homecare consolidate its 40 branches into eight call centers – a project Hall expects to be completed by the end of 2016. For many years, each Preferred Homecare site used a different phone system, and some didn’t use any at all. Although Preferred Healthcare’s IT team had only two or three months to complete the consolidation project, Hall noted
“City just bent over backwards for us. We ported a bunch of numbers to them. We got temporary City phone lines [which were used at Preferred Homecare sites that had problems with their phone systems]. [CityHosted] sped up the process with some of the carriers. It was pretty awesome.”

Hall provided an example to support his point when he discussed some of the issues their Cottonwood location was having with their older phone systems. He noted the office was using an archaic system that lacked the features and functionality the office needed.
